What is Peripheral Visual Field Test?
It is an excellent measure of central and or side vision. And are used by your doctor to identify. And also to find the strength and monitor your glaucoma. The visual field test uses a light spot that presents in several areas of your vision. Thus, the daily evaluation of the side field is not usually used. And will more than double the testing period with minimal improvement in the observation fault.
A visual field test is performed at the initial visit or as soon as glaucoma is felt. It assesses vision loss due to this felt. It also affects the visible ways of the brain and other optic nerve diseases. When glaucoma is identified, the visual field data helps find the strength of the disease.
A scale that rates only the central field will meet the needs of most clinicians. There will be a few situations that require the prices of the peripheral area. Between 91% and 99% of every visual field, defects happen within the visual field’s central 30° radius. And a few visual field failures are present beyond the 30° range.
Normal Results: In these, the peripheral vision is normal.
Abnormal results may be mainly due to diseases or Central Nervous System (CNS) disorders, such as tumors that affect parts of the brain that deal with vision.
